Holiday Cheer for our Troops from Suffolk County The Suffolk County American Legion Auxiliary's Christmas Stocking collection held by National Security Chairwomen Evajean Carbone, and Evelyn Gerlett. An approximate total of 750 or more stockings were collected for our troops in Iraq. 10th District Pres. Pat Bergin who is also Dept. Nat. Sec. Chairwoman helped in picking up some stockings on Long Island. Each Unit throughout Suffolk County donated stockings which were packed with socks, gloves, scarf's, hats, hygienic items, CD's and so much more. The kindergarten children from Wicks School in Brentwood donated stockings also filled with the same items. Their principal, teachers, custodians, parents all participated in this cause.

"The New York State Junior Auxiliary Member
of the Year of 2009" Delaney Enya Oliver, from Jefferson County / 5th
District,
Delaney
had the opportunity at National Convention to pose in a
photo with Miss America, and WOW, she's on the cover! She is a hard
working little Junior Auxiliary member, and has donated several hundred
pounds of can tabs to Ronald McDonald House. She has also worked hard
earning money to donate to "Operation Purple," last years Department
President's Special Project. Delaney also hosted 2 dinner fund raisers for
the Juniors fund in the Unit.
Sounds like she may have a possible "Department President's" title in her future... Thanks to her Mom, Dara Oliver, for submitting the information.
