Biography of the
Dept. Secretary/Treasurer
Mrs. Lochner was appointed
to the position of Secretary/Treasurer for the Department of New York in
July 2001. Juanita’s involvement in the American legion Auxiliary spans a 41
year history having joined the Gerald O’Neil Unit #1683, Rensselaer, NY in
1969. Her eligibility derives through the service of her father, Albert Fiacco, an Army veteran of World War II.

Her husband Francis and
two of her brothers also served in the Armed Forces during the Viet Nam
era. She has served in all capacities of the American Legion Auxiliary on
the Unit, County, and District Levels.

Having held several
chairmanships on the Department level, she was elected as 3rd
Vice-President in 1991, serving as Children & Youth Chairman, 2nd
VP in 1992, serving as Membership Chairman and 1st
Vice-President in 1993, serving as Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation
Chairman. In 1994 she was elected Department President and was presented
with a Life Membership by her Unit. In 1999 she completed all
qualifications and earned her Certification as Leadership instructor.

On the National level
she served as the Americanism Vice-Chairman and as the Auxiliary Emergency
Fund Chairman. Juanita also had the pleasure of serving as Campaign
Manager for Past National President, Phyllis Bachman. |
