College_Credits
The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New York offers an opportunity for all Girl State Citizens to earn three (3) college credits while completing their high school senior year. When they attend college the following year they could have three (3) credits, already logged on their record. All this for $100 – today’s average for one credit is $300 to $400 – we offer three for $100. As Chairmen you need to inform your 2008 Citizens of this opportunity through your interviews, orientations, and presentations of information to the parents. When the 2007 Citizens speak at your meetings this Fall, PLEASE ask them if they are participating, and if not, encourage them to send their application in immediately, They still have time - the internship and log are due December 31, 2007 and the research paper is due March 31, 2008. They may contact the Department office Secretary Terry Lochner, or Betty Jane Light, College Credit Chairman for more information. With rising College costs we need to have our citizens take advantage of this special program. We are the only Department in the A.L.A. that offers this program to Girl State Citizens. As an E.G.S.
