THE SIMPLE PATH

The fruit of silence is PRAYER.

The fruit of prayer is FAITH.

The fruit of faith is LOVE.

The fruit of love is SERVICE.

The fruit of service is PEACE.

Mother Teresa

As a Chaplain in the American Legion Auxiliary, you have chosen the path of service. This makes you an important member of the Department Team. You are the spiritual leader of your Unit or County and as such should pronounce the invocation and benediction at all Auxiliary meetings and conduct the Memorial service when needed.

A copy of the MANUAL OF CEREMONIES will prove a great help to you. Please remember to include our service men and women, Gold Star Mothers, and those who are in nursing homes or homebound in your prayers.

As the Auxiliary is composed of women of different creeds and faiths remember to show respect, tolerance and sympathy toward all.

Send any special prayers you might have over the next year to me so that they may be placed into a Department President Carol's prayer book.

REPORTING
One of the most important responsibilities of
Unit Committee Chairmen

i
s to report the activities and work
on their programs.
This comprises all of the work
done by the more than 53,000 members in our Department.
The
Unit Chairmen report to the County Chairmen who in turn
report to the Department Chairmen
.

The Department's report to National
is the factor that makes the outstanding reports at the National Convention.
Chairmen are encouraged to
 enter all contests.
