You are the spiritual leader of your Unit or County. You represent this organization at all funeral and memorial services. You will be called upon to visit the sick and infirm, to send a card or just a line that says ," hello, just thinking of you". Everyone likes to receive mail.

You will open and close meetings with prayer, carry your chaplains' manual with you at all times as you never know when you will need it. You also use inspirational verses of your own or written by someone else, always giving credit to the author. A Chaplains' manual may also be purchased through National Emblem Catalog. Units should conduct Memorial Services and Drape their Charter, as each member deserves to be remembered in a special way.

I will be expecting an AVALANCHE of special prayers to be placed in a Book of Prayers for our President Nancy.

Please consider Memorial contributions to National and Department Presidents' Projects, also Children and Youth and Veterans' programs.

The Chapel of Four Chaplains has long been supported by the Auxiliary.

It was established to honor those four chaplains who gave their life jackets to others as the USAT Dorchester was sunk in the waters of the North Atlantic after being hit by a torpedo fired from a German submarine. All contributions honoring them should be sent to Department in February.

Please send all information regarding deceased members to me, ASAP, so a sympathy card can be sent from Department to the family. Use the following form Chaplain Death Notice  or in the Plan of Action, making copies, sending one to your County Chaplain.
