help fund free Mammograms. It
costs you nothing to help make early detection and survival possible.
Funding is paid by site sponsors and goes to the nonprofit National Breast
Cancer Foundation, who uses it to grant access to mammography to women in
need. You can click once per day.
Pass it along as a way to fight breast cancer all year long!

Jan 9, 2008 - I received the following letter from the "Help
Fund Free Mammograms with one click"
Ann Viverito

Dear Supporter,
Happy New Year! We want to sincerely thank you for your unwavering
support in 2007. Dedicated supporters like you clicked and shopped to raise
vital funding to give free mammograms to thousands of women in need.
Together, we provided 7,151 mammograms for uninsured, working poor and
homeless women across the United States--that's over 1,500 more women helped
in 2007 than last year! Funding for 3,801 mammograms was generated thanks to
daily clicks on the
pink button, while the remaining 3,349 mammograms were funded by
purchases made in
The Breast Cancer Site store.
Resolve to do more in 2008! Your actions at The Breast Cancer Site
benefit women in need while spreading an important message of early
detection...
Thanks for your ongoing commitment to the cause!
Sincerely,

CANCER - a
word that strikes fear into the hearts of its victims;
AWARENESS - the first line of defense against this
deadly disease.
Breast Cancer is second only to
lung cancer as the leading cause of death among women. Doctors' projections
suggest 400,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year. Only
about 200,000 will survive. To influence the latter number every women must
become aware of the symptoms, insist on full cancer screening at annual
physicals, have regular mammograms and be ever alert to anything that
appears unusual.
As new advances in technology evolve, the treatment for breast, colon
and skin cancer as well as leukemia and melanoma becomes more successful.
The measure of success depends on early detection.
To support research and treatment of this deadly disease it is suggested
that we donate $0.25 per member to Cancer Awareness. Please state which
facility you would prefer these funds to support. If you do not indicate a
choice, the contribution will be divided among the facilities at Strong
Memorial in Rochester, Roswell Park in Rochester, Sloan Kettering in New
York City, Stony Brook in Suffolk County.

REPORTING
One of the most important responsibilities
of
Unit Committee Chairmen
is to report the activities and work
on their programs.
This comprises all of the work
done by the more than 53,000 members in our Department.
The Unit Chairmen report to the
County Chairmen who in turn
report to the Department Chairmen.
The Department's report to National
is the factor that makes the outstanding reports at the National
Convention.
Chairmen are encouraged to
enter all contests. |
