Wednesday will be our opening session.
Installation will be Thursday afternoon July 18th*

All sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Niagara Falls Convention Center.  All sessions will begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp.

Parking at the Niagara Falls Convention Center

There are over 2,000 paid parking spots within one block of the Niagara Falls Convention Center at the following municipal lots: Sheraton Niagara Falls lot, Third Street lot (near Jefferson Apartments), and the Rainbow Ramp (6′ 7″ clearance). Limited street parking is also available.

When using the Third Street lot (near Jefferson Apartments), we kindly ask that you park in non-reserved spaces, which are located on the right side of the lot. Reserved parking spaces are labeled and restricted to Jefferson Apartment residents and hotel guests only.


PLEASE NOTE: 

Dress code for Department Convention:  Department Officers and Past Department Presidents – White – all others are encouraged to wear Red, White, and Blue.  It is requested that dresses or pants suits be worn at all sessions.  No shorts or jeans please.


HOUSING:

You will be responsible for making your own reservation directly with the hotel link https://www.niagarafallsusa.com/nyslegion/ All rooms will be assigned according to availability.

EXHIBITS: 

All exhibits to be displayed must be brought to The Niagara Falls Convention Center on Tuesday, July, 16th  from 3 – 5:30p.m.  Be sure all items are marked with the member’s name, Unit name and # and County submitting item/article. Please give all exhibits to  Exhibits Chairman.

Exhibits will be displayed in the meeting room on Wednesday and Thursday.  All exhibits must be picked up on Thursday at the end of the session.   If not picked up, they will be destroyed.


FLOWERS: 

If you wish to order flowers, please (see attached order form) Order directly with the florist.


STATE DINNER: 

A Dinner honoring our Department President Karen D. St. Hilaire will be held Wednesday, July 17th  at The Niagara Falls Convention Center.  Cash bar 6-7 pm – Dinner at 7:00 pm – The Cost is $49.00. Checks must accompany all reservations. Please complete the reservation form attached and return it by July 1, 2024.

 PLEASE NOTE: State Dinner tickets may be picked up only in the Registration area at the Niagara Falls Convention Center – Grand Foyer on Tuesday or Wednesday only.


CANDIDATES’ RECEPTION: 

Wednesday evening, July 17th, immediately following the State Dinner at the Hyatt Place Hotel.


PAST PRESIDENTS PARLEY BUSINESS MEETING:  

Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 8:00 am in the Grand Ballroom of the Niagara Falls Convention Center. 



DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE INSTRUCTIONS

Per the Department Constitution ARTICLE VII, DEPARTMENT CONVENTION, SECTIONS 4 and 5:  Each Unit in the Department shall be entitled to one (1) delegate and one (1) alternate for the first ten (10) members and one (1) additional delegate and one (1) additional alternate for each additional one hundred (100) members or major fraction thereof, whose current dues have been paid thirty (30) days prior to the date of the Convention. Unit delegate’s entitlements unused by Units may be elected from the respective County’s membership at the June County meeting.  The immediate Junior Past President of the Unit shall become the first delegate to be elected.

If a Delegate cannot attend for any reason, the highest elected Alternate present would become a Delegate in her/his/their place. (Immediate Past County President is the delegate)

Please complete the County Delegate form and enclose your payment of $20.00 and send it to the Department Office no later than July 1, 2024.  Please be advised that you will need to show a photo ID at registration.


COUNTY Instructions: Once Delegate and Alternate is chosen, please remit to the Department Office the original County delegate form. Also, include a check for the registration fee of $20.00 per member payable to: American Legion Auxiliary, Dept. of New York, 1580 Columbia Turnpike, Bldg.#1, Suite #3, Castleton-on-Hudson, NY 12033.


If your County or Unit desires to present a resolution at the forthcoming Department Convention but did not submit it to the Department Office, it may still be sent to Department Office to arrive by July 1st or else may be given to the Department Secretary, between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m., on July 16th, 2024 at Auxiliary registration in Niagara Falls, NY.
