Department Presidents Message

 Dear Member:

This Plan of Action is your guide to fulfilling the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary.  Each of us plays a vital part in the success of our programs and our commitment to serving our Veteran’s, Youth and the Community in which we live, work and play.

As we begin this 91st year together, my hope is that we will work together in harmony for the good of the organization.  Unite with our American Legion Family to make a difference in the lives of those in which we were formed to serve.  United there is no limit to what we can accomplish.

Our Units are unique in their membership and dedication to the programs.  As we embrace our mission of “Service not Self”, we come together with a mutual interest.  Let’s continue our mission working together, united in service.

We are an organization of many faces, talents, interest, education, family dynamics and backgrounds.  How fortunate we are to belong to such a diverse and dynamic group of women.  Appreciate the talent that surrounds us.  Share your knowledge for the good of the organization, and mentor others to follow in your footsteps.

You are the reason the American Legion Auxiliary is the largest patriotic woman’s organization in the world.  You are the source of our success.  Always reflect on the reason you joined this organization when conflict erupts. Compromise is the ability to appreciate another point of view and work together for a common goal.

bullet Just like a “snowflake” our members are unique in beauty and design.  Some are playful some refined.  Each sparkles in a different way.  Unlike fragile snowflakes that fade when the sun appears, our members grow more beautiful with every passing year.  The power of each member is only heightened by joining forces to accomplish our mission.  One snowflake doesn’t make a very big impact, but when combined with others, it creates a breathtaking winter wonderland, purity in nature and a promise of a renewing spring. Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together. - Author Unknown

Let’s join together and create an avalanche of membership for the American Legion Auxiliary in 2010-2011, let’s work together to strengthen our ability to better serve our Veterans, Youth and Communities. Uniting in “Service not Self”, for God and Country.

Yours in Service to God and Country.
