The primary purpose of having a Website for the Department of New York, American Legion Auxiliary, is to make it convenient for our members to access ALL INFORMATION in our department. Your feedback is imperative to the continued success of our site!

Directions to navigate the pages of this Website!

You can find all Committee pages, Report Forms, Applications, and additional links by following these instructions.
On the left are links to special subjects on this website -- once you click on a link, a new page will open, some of these pages have additional links on the right with more information on the subject matter. If there are no links on the right, scroll to the bottom of the page for additional links.

Search:

If you can’t find something you are looking for, we have a search box. Just type in a few key words, and click on Search! Please notify me by e-mail If you need any help locating a page on this web site anniev8@verizon.net

Committee Information:

To access Committee Pages, click on Programs on the left side of any Page! For those of you who are not aware, the entire “Plans of Action” will be on our Website, and any subsequent committee bulletins.

All the Department Committee information is sent to me, "Website Coordinator"   by email attachment from the Committee Chairmen after it has the Department President’s approval! I then transfer all the information, (format it to co-inside with our President’s theme) on the Department website.

Most Convenient:

I created all forms in PDF format. (Portable Document File) What this means is, you can fill out the form you need using your computer keyboard. When you open a PDF file, place the curser (blinking vertical line) on the field (place) you want to start typing. To complete all the fields, just tab down to the next field and continue typing. If you make an error, just go back and re-type. When the form is completed with your data, print out as many copies as you need!

You need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" installed on your computer to view these files. You can download "Adobe Acrobat Reader" using the links
provided on our website. This is a FREE Download!
Please Note: These files Can Not be saved on your computer with your Data filled in unless you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat. Be sure to print out what you need!

The Calendar of Events lists important dates to remember and where the event is taking place.

Photos:

The American Legion, Department Photographer Doug Malin, has been taking lovely pictures of most visitations which we were privileged to enjoy. However, they have been limited to only very important events. Will you be kind enough to send me some pictures by email attachment to put on the website of your County Visitation. If you’re not using a Digital Camera, have them developed on a CD.  Also, please send me photos from the District Conferences &  Department Executive Meeting. Please share them with all  who can’t be there -- again, developed on a CD or email attachment.

 Membership:

I'm sure you have visited the "Membership Statistics" page. What a great way to promote competition. Doesn’t it make you want to go after those renewals and new members to bring your District and County up another notch or two?  Last year we listed the Units who won awards, I hope to be able to do that again this year .

Links:

We have a page with terrific links to most everything you could possibly want to access. Utilize them, I have researched the internet to accommodate you. All Graphics on the links page are a direct link to the graphic’s information. i.e. graphic of The American legion links you to "The National American Legion Website."

 This Year once again:

The Department President has requested all Committee Chairmen send their bulletins in the "Plan of Action" to her & the Department Office by email attachment. They will be viewed and approved by the Dept. President, Ann Geer and then forwarded to me so we can have the "Plan of Action" on the website in a very timely fashion.

Note: Please, DO NOT type your bulletins in all CAPS or all  BOLD. It is a NO-NO- on the internet. If you do, I have to re-type your Bulletin.  Please try to create your bulletin in, "Microsoft Word."

If you are not sure how to send an attachment by E-mail, just let me know, and I will assist you!!!

No bulletins  are posted on our web site without the Department Presidents approval or the Department office approval!

Please:

Publicize the website! When a committee chairman creates a bulletin and refers the members to the "Plans of Action" please, also refer them to our Website! Remember, everything is on the site, and then some…

District Presidents:

Keep in mind,  when you have to Introduce or Present our Department President at any function, you can access her Biography, and other important info about her from the Website.

Most Important:

Be kind to your friends who don’t have a computer. You can Print out anything on the site, (this includes all Legion Family Membership Applications, Forms, Scholarship Applications, and important information for your respective committee, share the pages with others. For those who don’t have a computer, your Public Library has access to computers for your use!

For Our Juniors:

Our Juniors are very Computer Literate, and could probably teach us all a thing or two! They use a computer frequently. Encourage them to make use of our site. By accessing the Committee pages, they will have all information and ideas for their programs!

They are the future members who will utilize the website to it’s fullest advantage! When they attend college, they will use a computer every day, and I’m sure the Department site will come in very handy as well.

By the way, we have links to all information for future college students! This includes important information about applying for Student Grants, Scholarships, Loans and other pertinent information to make their College experience very pleasant. These can be found on the "Links" page.

Don’t forget to sign up for all website updates. The link is on our Home Page.

Right now, I send out 500+  Emails each time there is an Update.

I hope this information is helpful to you -- because I do it for you … See you on the Web…
