 AMERICAN  LEGION  AUXILIARY……..ATTENTION

Pursuant to the requirements of the Constitution and Bylaws of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New York, Inc.:

I,  Susan M. Britton, Department President, do hereby call the  89^th  Annual Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New York, Inc. to be held in  Buffalo, New York on July 9, 10, 11, 2009 to convene at 8:30 a.m. Daylight Saving Time on the 9th day of July for the following purposes.

1. To elect delegates and alternates to the National Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary to be held, August 21^st   to August 27^th, 2009 in  Louisville, Kentucky.
    
2. The Department of New York is entitled to five delegates and five alternates and one additional delegate and one additional alternate for each 1,500 members or major fraction thereof, whose current dues have been received by the National Treasurer, thirty days prior to the meeting of said convention.
    
3. To elect Officers for the Department of New York for the ensuing year.
    
4. To elect in District Caucuses ten District Presidents to serve on the Department Executive Committee for the following year.
    
5. To amend the present Department Constitution and Bylaws if so desired, and to transact such other business as may come before this Convention.
